Social Safety Nets in Cambodia-All documents are posted in this section
A "National Forum on Food Security and Nutrition under the theme of Social Safety Nets in Cambodia" will be organized on 6-7 July,The RGC has made a firm commitment to embark in a systematic and integrated social safety net (SSN) development in Cambodia. At the 2nd CDCF last December 2008, the Government and development partners noted that significant progress has been made in reducing overall poverty levels, but at the same time recognized that significant parts of population remain vulnerable to various economic and social shocks pushing them to poverty and denying equal opportunities for participating in the economic growth. Risks and vulnerabilities have been exacerbated by the recent inflationary pressures and global economic crisis. It is recognized that the establishment of an effective and affordable social safety net system is an important complementary part of a long-term growth strategy for Cambodia.

Training Course on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN)
The Council for Agricultural and Rural development (CARD) in close cooperation with Food Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under the framework of FAO-Multidonor Partnership Programme-(FMPP) is going to conduct a Training Course on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) at district and commune level from 06-11 July 2009 in four pilot districts namely, Daun Keo, Kirivong, Smaraung and Traing of Takeo province. Participants are key facilitators from districts and commune councilors who working on the upcoming Commune Investment Plan (CIP) preparation in communes of the four districts.

Workshops for the MSME Provincial Investment Promotion project
The USAID Cambodia MSME Project improves the performance of firms, supports public-private dialogue and strengthens the public sector through targeted technical assistance. The project has geographic coverage of twelve provinces in Cambodia including Battambang, Siem Reap, Prey Veng, Kandal, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Kratie, Kampot, Pursat, Kampong Speu, Takeo, and Svay Rieng.
