Upcoming Technical Working Group Meeting on Food Security and Nutrition (TWG-FSN)
The Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) and Ministry of Planning (MoP) together with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Food Programme (WFP) jointly call for a meeting of the Technical Working Group on Food Security and Nutrition (TWG-FSN) early next month. Therefore, on behalf of CARD and MoP together with FAO and WFP, I have great pleasure and honour to kindly invite you to this upcoming TWG-FSN meeting on Friday, 4th July 2008 from 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Office of the Council of Ministers (Former Nation Assembly).

Rising Food Prices
United Nations Country Team in Cambodia supports a cohesive national response to rising food prices. Recently a discussion paper was developed giving a snapshot of the present situation and outlining a framework for immediate, medium and longer term response to this challenge.

Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition 2008-2012 (SFFSN)
The Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) has developed the "Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition 2008-2012 (SFFSN)" in a long process of broad and in-dept consultation with the Technical Working Group on Food Security and Nutrition (TWG-FSN) and line ministries as well as relevant stakeholders from both the government and development partners.Recently the SFFSN has been finalized, and officially endorsed and signed by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC).

Discusion Forum on Inflation and Poverty
The NGO Forum on Cambodia in cooperation with CARITAS Cambodia, Cambodian Economic Association (CEA) and other NGOs organized the Forum on Inflation and Poverty on 06 May 2008 from 8:00am to 12:00am at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC). The Forum was well attended by 146 participants from various CSOs, donors, government agencies, and communities, 32 of which were female.

Launching Workshop on “Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition 2008-2012 (SFFSN)”
The Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) has developed the “Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition 2008-2012 (SFFSN)”. Moreover, Council for Agricultural and Rural Development has taken an initiative to publish the document and will disseminate it to our esteemed stakeholder through the workshop, to which all the relevant stakeholders from both the government and development partners are invited, is going to be organized by CARD on 17th June 2008 to launch the “Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition 2008-2012 (SFFSN)” at Phnom Penh Hotel at 8:00AM.
