The purposes of setting up the Network are to forge linkages and collaborate closely with all involved agencies for effectively dealing with national food security problems and for improves decision making and program formulation. It also aims to establish a framework to seek assistance and cooperation from the stakeholders as well as to facilitate, share, and exchange information, experiences and lessons learned. In order to effectively implement and maintain the Network, it is expected that each involved organization/agency:

  • Desingate one efficer or representative to work as a focal point to co-operate with the FIVIMS Secretariat.
  • Participate in regular meetings with all focal points of the involved agencies to share issues related to food insecurity and vulnerability including experiences and lessons learned and innovative ideas and approaches towards improved national food security.
  • Provide necessary data and information to the FIVIMS Secretariat on a regular basic as agreed by the Network partners. Data and information provided by the National will include baseline reports on food insecurity and vulnerability, food security situations and trend, and may include other issues that reflect national FIVIMS requirements or interests.
  • Determine a clear and appropriate task for the Network.
