Activities

FSNPSP began in 2003 as an advisory project assisting the Cambodian government in designing and operationalizing food security policies.  The project works at the national level with the Ministry of Planning as official partner, and it supports, amongst others, the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Cambodia Nutrition Investment Plan (CNIP) and the National Poverty Reduction Strategy (NPRS).  The project has a focus at the provincial level in Kampot and Kampong Thom, where it is strengthening the Provincial Nutrition Coordination Committees (PNCCs).   FSNPSP also works in close collaboration with CARD, supporting the National Food Security Forum and the information system  on food security and nutrition (this website).

FSNPSP assists government departments, NGOs and international organizations in their implementation of ecologically, economically and socially appropriate policies and strategies to improve food security.   The project focuses its interventions on the following areas:

• capacity building and training
• policy advice and strategy development
• exchange of best practices and lessons learned with regard to food security and nutrition
• enhancement of cooperation and networking among stakeholders
• improvement of data management and monitoring of the food security situation and the impact of activities.
