Meeting room of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
April 21, 2008 Date posted: 17/04/2008 The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) has been formerly developed in Madagascar. Its director, Dr. Yang Saing Koma, compiled the Malagasy techniques of SRI with his experiences and launched the first field trials of SRI in the wet season 2000 with 28 farmers in five provinces of the rain fed low land ecosystem of Cambodia. Now, more than 80,000 farmers are using elements of SRI methods. The National workshop is organized by DAALI/MAFF funded by Oxfam (OA).
